HISTORY OF WESTERN SHIRTS BOOK
We are pleased to announce the publication of the new book "WESTERN SHIRTS: A Classic American Fashion. The authors are Rockmount third generation Steve Weil ("Western shirts are in his genes") and veteran Western industry editor and writer Dan DeWeese. The book is coffee table size 10 x 11", 200 pages. It features hundreds of photos of vintage shirts and a label index of over 250 brands made from the 1930s to present day. The book chronicles the history of Western shirts, the people who made them and the original brands. While there are numerous books on Western wear, this is the first to focus entirely on Western shirts.

SPECIAL COLLECTION OF SIGNED LIMITED EDITIONS

ROCKMOUNT vintage products and advertising are collectable and values are rising.  There is a strong market for our vintage shirts and antique advertising pieces which now sell for hundreds of dollars.   Museums have ROCKMOUNT in their permanent collections and sell the contemporary brand in their stores.   Collectors specialize in Rockmount.   Requests from consumers for us to sign their purchases are growing.

Our commitment to preserve our unique history is nothing new.   We continue to fight the challenges to which so many domestic businesses succumb: cheap imports, generic design, succession of the family business.  We remain one of the last 3 original businesses in historic LoDo (Lower Downtown)
Denver.  We hope to expand the vintage museum in our Denver headquarters.

The new Special Collection of Signed Limited Editions is intended to help preserve our historic role in popularizing Western fashion & lifestyle.   We plan to expand this section as time allows.  These rare vintage items are numbered and extremely limited.  When gone there are no more.

SPECIAL VINTAGE ROCKMOUNT POSTERS COLLECTIBLES

SPECIAL VINTAGE ROCKMOUNT POSTERS COLLECTIBLES

ROCKMOUNT vintage products and memorabilia are collectable with values rising.  There is a strong market for this Americana.   Museums and collectors have them and now you can, too.

As is often the case with collectibles, these historic designs have stories.   These advertizing posters from the early 1950s were commissioned by “Papa Jack” to advertize the then new ROCKMOUNT brand thru retailers carrying it.  While researching his book, WESTERN SHIRTS: A CLASSIC AMERICAN Fashion, Steve Weil (Rockmount 3rd generation and president), found one of these designs in California and featured it in the book.

Later, during the renovation of the 1909 Rockmount Building in Denver, Steve uncovered a set of the original artwork between a cabinet and the wall in “Papa Jack’s” office where he found a set of 4 colors.  Finally, while doing a book signing in Denver, a woman in her 80s brought a 5th color.   She was the artist, Sue Herzel Shapiro, who originally drew it as a fledgling graphic designer.

In over twenty-five years of collecting and archiving ROCKMOUNT products and memorabilia, Steve has never seen others, though they once were in hundreds of stores across the country over fifty years ago.  Now you can enjoy them, too.  <> 20 x 24" Posters  $45, Signed by the Weil Family $60

Once in awhile we find something that speaks to our passion of things Western.  This painting is original ledger art by Terrance Guardipee, Blackfeet Artist

The painting is in the Plains Indian 19th century tradition of using ledger books for drawing pictoral history.  Terrance uses early paper for his work.  His traditional elements have deeper meaning.  His work is in the collection of the Smithsonian.

Custom framed to archival standard.
Ledger Art Buffalo $600.
